Online OCD Therapy Across Illinois

Evidence-based OCD treatment, wherever you are in the state. Specializing in ERP.

Illinois has no shortage of therapists. But when it comes to OCD, most of them are not equipped to treat it properly. OCD requires a specific intervention called Exposure and Response Prevention. It requires a therapist who has trained in it and practiced it extensively. Whether you are in Chicago, Springfield, Champaign, or anywhere else in Illinois, I offer specialized OCD treatment via secure telehealth so geography is never the thing standing between you and the right care.

Why a generalist is not enough for OCD

Most people with OCD have already been to therapy. Many have been told they have generalized anxiety. Some have been given breathing exercises and journaling prompts that do nothing for the intrusive thought that has been playing on a loop for three months straight. This is not a criticism of those therapists. OCD is simply a condition that requires specialized treatment, and that treatment is not taught in most clinical training programs.

ERP is the intervention with the strongest evidence base for OCD. It is not about talking through your thoughts or figuring out where they came from. It is about systematically changing your relationship to the discomfort those thoughts create. I have over 13 years of clinical experience doing this work, and OCD is the center of my practice. That level of focus makes a measurable difference in outcomes.

If you are in Illinois and you have been searching for a therapist who actually understands OCD, you are in the right place.

How telehealth works in Illinois

Sessions from wherever you are

Every session is conducted over secure video through Jane, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. You do not need to drive to an office, sit in a waiting room, or rearrange your schedule around a commute. Log in from home, from work, or from whatever private space is available to you that day.

Research supports online ERP

Multiple studies have demonstrated that telehealth ERP is as effective as in-person treatment for OCD. There is even an argument that it is better in certain ways: you are doing exposures in the setting where your OCD actually operates, not in a sterile office that your brain does not associate with your triggers.

Available across all of Illinois

I am licensed in Illinois and can work with any adult who is physically in the state during our session. Whether you are on the north side of Chicago, downstate in Carbondale, or in the western suburbs, access to specialized OCD treatment should not depend on your zip code.

Getting set up is simple

All you need is a device with a camera, a microphone, and a reliable internet connection. Jane sends you appointment reminders, a secure session link, and handles all the logistics. You show up and we get to work.

Session rates and payment

Initial assessment: $250

The first session is a comprehensive evaluation. We go deep into your specific OCD patterns, your history with treatment, and what your life looks like right now. This is not a surface-level intake. It is the foundation of a treatment plan that is built specifically for you.

Ongoing sessions: $200

I am a private pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. I provide superbills upon request at the end of each month that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many Illinois insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits. Check your benefits here to see what your plan may cover.

What makes ERP different from regular therapy?

Traditional talk therapy for OCD often involves discussing and analyzing intrusive thoughts, which can inadvertently reinforce the OCD cycle. ERP takes the opposite approach. It teaches you to sit with the discomfort of the intrusive thought without performing the compulsion. Over time, your brain learns that the thought is not dangerous and the urge to respond diminishes. It is the most effective treatment for OCD that exists.

How long does treatment take?

Most clients see meaningful improvement within 12 to 20 sessions. Some see progress faster, depending on severity and session frequency. We meet at least once a week, with twice weekly being the preferred frequency for the strongest results. We track progress with real measures so you can see the change, not just feel it.
